Feeder Guard

Feeder Guard

The Feeder Guard protocol will finish as of March 1st 2013. This is due to advances in technology.  Vaccination of cattle to better boost their immune response to Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) can now take place on arrival at the feedlot.

The success of Feeder Guard prepared animals in the lot feeding environment, was well proven and accepted by the industry. Vaccination is only part of the management included in a good yard weaning program and we still encourage you to vaccinate your cattle as part of the best possible management protocol.

The new vaccines used at feedlot entry are only available via approved feedlot veterinarians and if you wish to know more or even incorporate these vaccines in your own program we suggest you talk to your approved vet. Elders Vet Supplies will happily give contact details for these feedlot specialists if you wish.

If you were a member, we'd like to thank you again for being a supporter of Australia’s leading BRD prevention protocol.
