Drought Resources

There are many sources of information on drought relief, assistance and other related services available to landholders both at a national and state level in Australia and some of the information is being updated regularly.

Here, in the Elders Drought Resources section of our website we have attempted to put together links to relevant information that may assist Elders clients through this extended period of drought which is impacting many parts of Australia.

The resources pages are segregated into National Resources - relevant across all state boundaries of Australia and State Resources specific to individual state.
National resources includes information on the federal drought-relief financial assistance package, a list of rural financial counsellors in all states and an informative booklet produced by the West Australian government that is also relevant in other states.

Separate to the national information are links to specific web sites and web pages relevant to each state/territory. This sections include links to particular state financial assistance schemes, state contact lists for counsellors and other services that may be of assistance.

Wherever possible a direct link to the relevant page has been provided, to access the websites simply click on the highlighted and underlined item that you want to view and the link will take you to the website required. PDF downloads of relevant documents are also available directly from this site where available.

In addition, contact numbers and web page links have been provided for personal counselling services that can assist with relationship, family, financial and other issues.

To assist clients dealing with drought, Elders has arranged for the services that Davidson Trahaire Corpsych provide to Elders staff members to be extended to current Elders clients, free of charge until June 30, 2008 (see National section).

Elders Rural Bank district banking managers can also assist clients working through the funding application process of federal or state drought-relief programs.
